The Myth project was about choosing a Myth and building a game around this story. My team and I chose "Mothman" which was more urban legend then a Myth and we wanted to do a VR game aswell.
It provided an inteteresting challenge nontheless.
I came up with the idea to build a detective which was rejected by my team at first, but after out first concept was rejected , we went with it anyway.
The objective of the game would be to find clues around the map, use those to unlock a door and reach the end. The first 2 weeks we spend on our game concept to which we lost precious time in which we could have build a prototype.
We eventually build a working prototype in just 1 week.
In the other 4 weeks we iterated on the prototype to create a proper working game. We won 3rd place at the project competition aswell.
This game took me out of my comfort zone. First of all I was not the project leader, and second I never made something for VR.
Nevertheless, I contributed much to the project by creating the clue/Code lock system , the startscreen UI and alot of paperwork.
In the end I learned alot about VR and how use it effectively. Not being the project leader was a good experience aswell, allowing me to see the development proces from a new perspective.
